![]() If the controller isn't affected by a battery disconnect, then it's possible it's failing, but i'd leave that as last resort. (humm, can you create the problem with the car running ? - higher voltage) ![]() If that's the case, then perhaps there is a wiring problem (poor connection) that's just keeping the control unit alive and it doesn't take much to drop the voltage and lose it's memory. Meaning, the car battery is needed to retain "memory" Maybe others can tell us, but if the car battery is removed for a time, does the key fob controller need to be reprogrammed ? I'm just wondering if the control unit is "losing" it's programming ? If the function performed is the same (doors locked) then there may be a connection between that function and the control unit. If each fob causes the same sequence of failure, then it can't be the fob. Insert your ignition key into the ignition cylinder and remove it. The cut key part is just in case the battery completely dies in the key fobs, or the more likely scenario. Sit in the driver’s seat and close all doors. For 2014 Odyssey and above with Smart Key System (or whatever term Honda calls it), the immobilizer chip is IN the key fob, along with the remote that opens/closes doors by pushing button (s). What I'm trying to do here is identify the pattern. Step 1: Enter Programming Mode The first step in reprogramming your Honda Odyssey key fob is to enter the programming mode. Take note of the function being done, you mentioned, "it locked the doors and didn't work again", is it always the same ?Ĭan you create a sequence that causes it to fail ? Press the valet's disarm button, which is located between the stereo and CD control buttons on. Turn the ignition switch to the 'ON' position. If the key fob was disrupted by an electronic emitter, the manufacturer's programming codes will no longer work, and the key fob will need to be reset. ![]() ![]() Have you tried each one separately until it fails ? (to prove it happens with each one) Step 2 Enter programming mode to reset key fob. With this happening to all the key fobs, it would seem to me the issues isn't with them. ![]()
